In this installment, we continue the voyage with the ever-ambitious 17-year-old Monkey D. Luffy, whose dream of becoming the Pirate King is as unwavering as ever. Luffy, accompanied by his loyal crew—Zoro, Sanji, Chopper, Usopp, Nami, Robin, Brook, and Franky—encounters new adversities and allies beneath the waves of Fish-Man Island.

The crux of Volume 65 centers around the conflict with Hody Jones and his menacing Fish-Man pirate crew, including members like Hammond, Ikaros Much, Dosun, Zeo, Daruma, and Hyouzou. Their plot to obliterate the island poses a grave threat, bringing Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates to the forefront of an undersea battle that could dictate the fate of an entire civilization. To give you a bit more context, Hody Jones, driven by a deep-seated hatred for humans, plans to overthrow the current regime and establish a new order under his rule. The Straw Hats, upon learning of this, decide to intervene and stop Hody's destructive plan.

My Likes: There's a lot to admire in this volume. The climax, where Luffy delivers a well-deserved beatdown to Hody, is immensely satisfying. Additionally, the moments of joy and relief as Fish-Man Island celebrates its salvation are heartwarming and serve as a testament to the Straw Hats' hard-fought victory. The ensuing feast and revelry capture the essence of the series—adventure, friendship, and the joy of overcoming insurmountable odds.

My Dislikes: Tension runs high when Hody's victory seems imminent, and the island's destruction looms near—anxiety-inducing to say the least. Additionally, I was left wanting more from Jimbei, the noble warlord, whose decision to delay joining the Straw Hats adds a bittersweet note to an otherwise triumphant volume.

The Recommendation: For those who revel in action-packed fantasy and enjoy manga titans like "Dragon Ball," "One Punch Man," and "Naruto," "One Piece" Volume 65 is a must-read. It's a testament to Oda's storytelling prowess, blending high-stakes adventure with intricate character dynamics. If you enjoy the intense battles and character development in " Naruto ", or the humor and action in " One Punch Man ", you'll find similar elements in " One Piece ". However, Oda's unique storytelling style and the maritime theme set it apart from these titles.

The Rating: I give Volume 65 a 9.5 out of 10. My only quibble is with the action sequences, which, while explosive and thrilling, are fleeting—often spanning just a couple of pages. A lingering taste of battle would have been the cherry on top of this already delectable piece of the "One Piece" saga. The reason for the high rating is the compelling storyline, the well-developed characters, and the satisfying resolution of the conflict. However, I deducted half a point because I felt the action sequences could have been a bit more extended to heighten the thrill.

As we close the pages of this volume, the Straw Hats are left to ponder the implications of their victory—and the shadow of a "much stronger person" intended to be the feast's original honoree. It's a cliffhanger that promises more excitement, more challenges, and more "One Piece" to anticipate eagerly.
